About me

I'm Fiachra, a Product Designer based in Singapore.

I currently design AI-powered SaaS products at a stealth-mode startup, working end-to-end from ideation and prototyping through to polished design. By night, I'm building and shipping an iOS app in public, using vibe coding tools to go from concept to App Store without writing a single line of code.

I’ve always been drawn to learning across disciplines — studying anthropology, political science, and history in the US (Colorado College) and UK (University of Cambridge) before becoming a designer. That curiosity has become a strength in the AI age: it trained me to look at problems from multiple perspectives, connect patterns, and translate complexity into clear, usable solutions.

Before moving into product design, I worked in content strategy and research, supporting published lectures, podcasts, and conferences. Having also lived in China and Taiwan, and fluent in Mandarin Chinese, I bring an international outlook to my work and a focus on building products that are thoughtful, accessible, and easy to use.

September 2024 - December 2024

UX Designer (Freelance & Bootcamp Projects)
General Assembly UX Design Bootcamp | Singapore

Spearheaded the end-to-end design process for an Australian property management website (Managed App), introducing a task overlay feature, dashboard redesign, and action centre enhancements, increasing task clarity and efficiency.
Implemented existing design systems while creating new components that maintained consistency across pages and platforms.
Led UX research for a Singapore Botanic Gardens mobile app, conducting 34 user interviews, non-participant observation, and competitor analysis to uncover visitor needs. Findings informed the design of an app with QR code-enabled plant information and route customisation for different visitor types.
Sketched initial design solutions before creating low- to high-fidelity wireframes in Figma, iterating first through team critiques and discussions, then refining based on usability testing insights to enhance usability and engagement.
Presented research insights and design solutions to colleagues and clients, ensuring alignment between business goals and user needs.
